STARGATE MISSIONS - EPISODE TITLE: QUITTING TIME Planet Designation: PX1-947 A colony of miners (the Beljurens) are due to stop working tomorrow. They are being relieved by a fresh team of miners from the next town over. Tonight, they celebrate…and tomorrow, they forget. During the night a bright pink spore is released into the air. Inhaling this spore calls for a Fort save DC 25. Failure results in a deep sleep, and forgetting everything that happened within the last 24 hours. Thus, the miners go back to work and it starts all over again, and they don’t remember that there’s a spore to be afraid of. The spore is released by a plant that sheds on a regular basis, due to its own internal clock. The plant was once banned and attacked by the locals, since it was regarded as dangerous. When the locals went to war with neighbors over their mine, however, their neighbors found potential in the plant. They began to cultivate it in underground tunnels. On an appointed night, they caused a biochemical reaction that made the plants begin their blooming cycle. Every evening when the day’s labor is done, their load of precious metal is sent downstream with one experienced guide. Their whole assumption is that they are safe, and the next town over – allied to theirs – will take the metal and sell it. They do not know their old ally was destroyed years ago and that their borders are patrolled by their enemy, the Tarnesh. The mining colony was not large to begin with – about 100 souls. They have worked this way for about 20 years. They have ingested the spores so much they have become weak to its effects. They have also become infertile and are beginning to age. There are only 40 miners left, the youngest being about 30 years old. Possible names: Aanon, Beran, Calin, Cener, Dulan, Damis, Ebra, Elna, Farbel, Gwynn, Halris, Jasper, Jora, Lobee, Meren, Rana, Tarlin, Tenya, Wispar
