Comments: I just found this sight and I think it has wonderfully thought provoking articles. I love your views and I share many of your views also. It is so refreshing to hear someone actually concerned with the real reason these games are around---Roleplaying, most of the new gamers are into hack and slash action all the way. It is really caused by all this cultural desensitization, hard to see what gore we will encounter in twenty years. I don't think it could go any more deep in detail, though I have been wrong. Anyways, great job, love to see more. Also, for the drow check out Races of Renown: Plot and Poison by Green Ronin, it does provide a very well resource. The recent expansion of The Book of Vile Darkness provides a section on poisons and diseases that should satisify your need for "in depth" poisons and disease. Some are quite horrible. Well, I leave you with those words, adieu.
Farewell,
Ryan

Comments: Well i happened to stubble upon this site by accident, it cought my attention right away with it's well written articles. As i was slowly reading through, my reading pace slowly increased till i was scanning through at a fast steady pace. Now i normally do this with boring materials and such, it was not like that here. I kept reading faster because i was finding what i was reading unbelievable. Needless to say I am amazed and in awe of what i found on these pages. I want to thank you and compliment you on your work here and i hope this site stays up and get's even more publicity. I will continue to come here myself looking for more tips and information on the world of gaming. You've changed my outlook on many things and again i thank you.

Comments: I enjoyed wandering around your site. Ironically, my first 3E campaign was set in Nesme, so it was interesting to see the heart of your campaign set so close.
Your rants (particularly about D&D and WW players) seemed pretty 'on'. I run Mage normally, but every once in a while it's fun to game-out and play some D&D. The depth of characterization is largely a function of the players, no matter the system.

Thanks for sharing your campaign, thoughts and opinions.

Comments: Great site! I have been gaming since 1981 and while I have seen female gamers over the years I have noticed a definite increase lately.
I ran an informal gaming group with three female students at a high school where I taught recently and I must say that girls are every bit as capable of understanding the rules and going through the module as guys are. In fact, some of the best play acting I have ever seen was done by a high school senior girl. She played Mialee (3rd Edition iconic female elf wizard) as a melodramatic, affected narcisisstic lush. "Oh no, the musty air in this dungeon is wreaking havoc with my cioffure! And there's not an ale house in sight! Stop whining about that broken leg of yours and let's focus on me and my needs! See! I just broke a nail! Need I say more? Peasant!"

Comments: You've put up a good site. It is pleasant to read a D&D site with proper use of language. I have been at this for about 21 years and have noticed the creativity and originality steadily drop. The graphics are much better though. I have been playing or DM'ing for a long time and never really put the Final Fantasy Formula idea so formally. Probably because I started playing before Ultima I. I can tell you the formula has been around longer than video games. Read Beowulf or Lord of the Rings and you will find it. The first D&D adventure sold en-masse was Keep on the Borderlands and it is definitley hack and slash. I am using it right now actually. It is difficult to remove the formula completely from the game due to the nature of statistics. Unless you want to arbitrarily distribute experience or develop really unwieldy charts. I have found that the best remedy for the FF blues is character background and a flexible DM. The good dungeon master may have some short term goals for the players like defeating the evil priest in KotBL, but there have to be subplots, character building and personality in the roleplay. Also, if the adventure is not rushed the formula is so long in coming to conclusion that you don't see it in individual sessions. Really, detailed character backgrounds are a DM's best friend. Coercing the players to develop the players history can work like story starters. By the end of a campaign each player should be able to write a book with their character as the star. Tough job DM. Regardless of the method, you know you got it right when close friends in real life are arguing, getting exasperated, cheering and crying during play.

Comments: Love the content, love the look...love it all! I'm always gald to meet other D&D girl fans because in my family and my high school there aren't many(like 3 or 4...counting myself). Hopefully I'll find more next year in college...anyway, amazing site. Keep it up!
