The Pinkertons
![]() Tom and Mandy Pinkerton
started out with a little bit of money and a lot of hope on a scrap of
desert land in Strangetown. Together they created a loving
household of six children - Joseph, Aaron, the twins Mary and Debbie,
Joshua, and Ruthie - who grew up and went forth to create their
own fortunes, moving on up into Bluewater Village. There have
been many hardships thus far and a lot
of hard work, but even when the family falls apart it still sticks
together.

All About the Pinkertons Inspiration:
I started the Pinkertons over Christmas break 2005 because I wanted to
know what it would be like to play a large family: having the maximum
of eight Sims in the house, all of the children born in-game and raised
while the parents did their best to work. I had never
played so many Sims at once and I wanted to tend different goals for
all of them. I also had it in the back of my mind to see just how
large of a family I could make; how many generations could I reach, how
many Sims could I play? So I made Tom and Mandy Pinkerton, two
very generic Sims, and I got them to the work of having babies.
Their family has become my most challenging to date. I have come
to enjoy my Pinkertons more than I could have imagined when I started
and I continue to learn a great deal about the Sims 2 through them.
Albums: I had not bothered much with taking pictures before playing this family, but for some reason I was seized by the desire to tell the stories of the Pinkertons through pictures. Thus, all of the Pinkerton families have albums - but several of those albums start out with fuzzier pictures. Since I hadn't done much picture-taking and I hadn't cared to show them to anyone but myself, for a time I didn't think about how crisp the pictures were. I raised the settings a decent ways back and I am still learning how to frame my shots better, so the albums get better as they go along. Disclaimer: In case anyone forgets, The Sims 2 is a game for adults as well as children and everyone plays their games in a different fashion. I don't use nudity patches, anatomically correct skins, or sexualized downloads in my game, but that is mostly because I try not to download anything I don't feel necessary or sanity-saving. I also don't usually cuss in my storytelling, which is actually quite a surprise to me given my propensity for cursing naturally outside of work and school. But my storylines do involve many different elements of the Sims: aliens, pregnancies, adultery, death, sex, and so on. Please read at your discretion. |
